Adult Training Requirements

Effective September, 2010:

1. Youth Protection Training is required for every parent attending a troop camping trip. This training must be renewed every two years.

2. All registered leaders (including Merit Badge Counselors and Summer Camp chaperones) must take Youth Protection Training, Fast Start: Boy Scouting, and This is Scouting.

3. Troop Committee Members must also take Troop Committee Challenge.

4. Assistant Scoutmasters must also take Scoutmaster Specific Training and Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills.

All training courses except for the Assistant Scoutmaster ones may be taken at the On Line Training Center. After completing a course, print your certificate and give a copy to the Adult Training Coordinator (Peggy Pelosi) for the troop records.

Assistant Scoutmaster training is offered twice a year by Bucks County council (www.buckscountybsa.org). You may also take them from a neighboring council such as Cradle of Liberty (www.colbsa.org) or Central NJ Council (www.cnjcscouting.org).
