Assistant Scoutmaster Training

Bucks County Council is offering "Scoutmaster Specific" and "Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS)" training April 23-25 at Camp Ockanickon.

Scoutmaster Specific provides an understanding of how a Boy Scout troop is organized and run. IOLS teaches the skills needed for the boys to advance to First Class.

These courses are required by all Assistant Scoutmasters to wear the "Trained" emblem.

Friends of Scouting Campaign

The annual Friends of Scouting campaign is underway. The FoS campaign supports the programs of the Bucks County Council. Please contribute as Troop 10 has pledged 100% family participation. Download the pledge form and other information here.

Upcoming Trips

Washington, DC

April 16-18: Camping at Greenbelt Park, Visit to Washington, DC (optional Bike Tour of Monuments). Wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery.

First camping trip for new scouts crossing over to Troop 10.


Round Valley, NJ

May 14-16: Camping at Round Valley Reservoir, Canoing Merit Badge class for second year scouts at Spruce Run Recreation Area.


Delaware River Canoe Trip

June 24-27 (Thurs-Sun): Camping and canoeing along the Upper Delaware River. We will cover 40+ miles from Milanville, PA to Matamorasover three days. Bald eagles and black bear are often seen along this beautiful stretch of river.

Scouts must have (or be completing) their canoeing merit badge in order to participate.


We meet at the church for all camping trips on Friday at 5:30pm unless otherwise noted. Scouts should bring dinner or money for a fast food stop.

Troop Meetings are every Thursday from 7:30-9:00pm at Yardley United Methodist Church, 300 Langhorne-Yardley Road.

April

  • April 7: PLC Meeting (7-7:30pm), Troop Committee Meeting (7:30-8:30pm), Yardley UMC.
  • April 8: Deadline for regular price summer camp registration.
  • April 16-18: Camping trip to Washington DC.
  • April 22: Trenton Thunder Game and Flag Ceremony (no Troop Meeting)
  • April 23-25: Assistant Scoutmaster Training at Ockanickon.
  • April 29: Canoe Merit Badge class begins (during Troop meeting). Required in order to participate in the June canoe trip.

Longer Range

  • May 5: PLC Meeting (7-7:30pm), Troop Committee Meeting (7:30-8:30pm), Yardley UMC.
  • May 14-16: Camping at Round Valley Reservoir.
  • May 16: Eagle Court of Honor
  • June 24-27: Delaware River Canoe Trip
  • July 18-24: Summer Camp, Camp Ockanickon
